The Cloud Security Architect will lead the design and implementation of secure architectures across Microsoft Azure and AI-enabled cloud platforms. This role combines advisory and hands-on responsibilities, supporting secure cloud adoption through architecture design, threat modeling, and control validation. The successful candidate will work closely with security and cloud operations teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and operationally effective.Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure cloud and AI architectures within Microsoft Azure environments
- Develop and validate security patterns, frameworks, and controls for cloud and AI platforms
- Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for cloud-based solutions
- Support configuration, implementation, and validation of security controls
- Collaborate with Security Operations and cloud platform teams to ensure operational readiness
- Contribute to development of operational runbooks and security procedures
- Assist with onboarding security controls into enterprise security tooling
- Support remediation efforts to address identified security risks and vulnerabilities
- 3+ years of experience as a Cloud or Security Architect in Microsoft Azure environments
- Strong expertise in Azure security architecture, services, and controls
- Experience designing or securing AI platforms, including AI Landing Zones
- Hands-on experience with threat modeling and cloud security frameworks
- Experience working with Security Operations teams in enterprise environments
- Experience with cloud security solutions such as Check Point
- Microsoft Azure security certification (e.g., AZ-500 or equivalent)
- Experience supporting AI-enabled or data-driven cloud workloads
- Familiarity with security tooling integration and control automation
- Experience contributing to operational documentation and runbooks
This is a 12-month contract position based in Richmond, BC, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 3 days per week onsite.
