Position: Parks LabourerDivision: Community ServicesDepartment: ParksTerm: Multiple Seasonal Full Time positions available.Closing Date: 04/23/2026Labour Group: CUPE 59Posting: 4887Job SummaryUnder supervision of the Supervisor, this position performs a variety of general labour tasks related to the care and maintenance of City parks, cemeteries and green spaces.Duties & Responsibilities

Performs a variety of general labour tasks including:

Turf Maintenance: Seeding, watering, mowing, line trimming and fertilizing.
Horticultural work: Weeding, spraying, pruning, planting, and tiling.
General Park maintenance: Litter and debris pick-up, performing minor repairs/maintenance and using/maintaining a variety of handheld tools.
Assists with pest management and pruning operations, as required.
Supports and promotes a safe and positive workplace culture through a variety of initiatives and activities.
Supports and promotes the health and safety of employees in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations in addition to the City of Saskatoon's Administrative Occupational Health & Safety policies and departmental procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation, Training and Experience Requirements

Grade 10 education.
Three months' related horticultural/agricultural experience.
Possession of a valid Saskatchewan full Class 5 Driver's Licence is required, or at minimum, a Class 5 (Novice 2).
Current driver's abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

Knowledge and ability to use a variety of hand tools.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and other civic employees.
Ability to work in a computerized/digital environment, including the use of Microsoft Outlook, SAP and mobile devices.
Physical ability to perform the assigned duties under a variety of weather conditions.
