
Temporary Journeyman - Millwright

- Perform troubleshooting and resolve issues related to breakdown or corrective maintenance promptly, applying basic root cause analysis when necessary and escalating issues if required.
- Complete service sheets and job-related paperwork accurately, including documenting hours worked, parts used, tasks completed, and additional defects identified.
- Provide detailed feedback (both verbal and written) to the Maintenance Supervisor or Planner regarding work performed and equipment conditions.
- Maintain a commitment to safety, environmental, and health standards, adhering to the Zero Harm policy and participating in safety protocols, including guarding for blasts, fire watch, or other emergency duties as required.
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping in the work area during and after task completion, including proper cleaning, tagging, and storage of used parts.
- Provide training and mentorship to apprentices or subordinates as required.
- Positively interact with workshop personnel to foster effective teamwork and collaboration.
- Work according to schedules, ensuring jobs are completed safely and to a high standard unless otherwise directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Conduct effective troubleshooting using root cause analysis techniques to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Use computer-based maintenance systems such as SAP as required.
- Other duties as required and assigned.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a Journeyman Millwright in industrial, mining, or manufacturing environments required.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems required.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills required.
- Valid Class G required.
- Experience with hoisting systems, conveyors, crushers, and other mining or heavy industrial equipment preferred.
- OEM qualification training preferred.
- Physical capability to work in all environments, including underground, confined spaces and at heights, while lifting and handling equipment over 50 lbs required.
- Adaptability to challenging conditions, including varying temperatures, noise, and environmental factors required.
- Willingness and ability to work rotating day/night shift schedules required.
- Diagnose and perform mechanical repairs on pumps, ensuring reliable operation.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair conveying systems and related mechanical components to support continuous production.
