Job DescriptionSociété Emballages Hood is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Plant Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will play a key role in monitoring the site's financial operations, analyzing results, and preparing reports to support decision-making.Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial reports and various analyses to support management decisions
  • Perform weekly and monthly site-related journal entries and adjustments
  • Analyze monthly variances as reflected in the financial statements
  • Manage accounts receivable, credit, and collections
  • Review accounts payable entries and validate accounting batches
  • Oversee payroll accounting and year-end reconciliations for the site
  • Assist in preparing year-end schedules and other special projects as needed
RequirementsEducation and Experience
  • Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or MRP environment (asset)
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience depending on education level
  • CPA designation or in progress (strong asset)
Technical and Professional Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (an asset)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
Languages
  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written) is required
  • Knowledge of English is an asset
