
Senior Building Electrical Engineer

- Job Description
- Electrical Lead on projects to bring electrical designs from beginning to end. Electrical designs would include lighting, fire alarm, electrical distribution, emergency distribution and other small low voltage systems.
- Prepare the design of institutional buildings including education, recreation, health care, municipal, and commercial projects, as well as other types of buildings such as industrial and transportation
- Manage and work the project from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to construction completion including tender and construction/contract administration
- Contribute to the development of the electrical engineering group's technical expertise to meet our clients' needs
- Analyze and solve complex problems, identify appropriate work methods and guidelines, and coordinate project completion
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, and other departments within CIMA+
- Prepare and reply to proposals in collaboration with the team assigned to this task
- Prepare technical reports, write specifications and construction cost estimates
- Ensure compliance to the quality assurance and control program
- Investigate, survey and audit sites
- Profile
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- P. Eng. license in Ontario
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is an asset
- Over 12 years' experience in electrical engineering in the buildings sector
- Knowledge and experience in the consulting engineering market and with clients in Ottawa and surrounding area (an asset)
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian building electrical codes and regulations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Bilingualism - French and English; would be an asset for this engineering role, as it ensures effective collaboration with our diverse set of stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies nationwide.
- Knowledge of design of telecommunication pathways would be an asset
- Knowledge of drafting skills in AutoCAD and Revit would be an asset.
