
Estimating Intern

- Aids in reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to help determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Assists in reviewing historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and person-hour figures.
- Supports estimating team by helping to prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work. Assists in calculating material quantity requirements from engineering drawing dimensions.
- Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Assists with design review options and recommends best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
- Partners with estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit team and project management team.
- Researches and recommends vendors and subcontractors for designated scopes of work to achieve pursuit and cost goals.
- Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.
- Support published corporate policies.
- Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
- Estimating interns/co-ops are required to be currently enrolled in Engineering, Construction Management or a similar program at an accredited technical college or university.
- This will be a 4 month co-op in our Richmond office starting September 2, 2025 and ending December 19, 2025
