To that end, we recruit candidates from different backgrounds and foster a work environment that encourages employees to collaborate and learn from each other, completely free of barriers.Your role:Global Relay is looking for a Software Asset Manager to manage and optimize the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and disposal of software applications within our organization.This role is vital to helping Global Relay maximize the value of its software investments while minimizing risks and costs. The successful candidate will use their experience to help build the software asset management (SAM) practice for Global Relay by developing the framework, processes, procedures and tracking methodologies required for the management and control of our software environment.The Software Asset Manager is crucial for maximizing efficiency, controlling costs, and mitigating risks associated with software acquisition and usage.Your responsibilities:
  • Track and manage software licenses to ensure compliance and avoid overspending
  • Use your analytical skills, including the ability to run reports and provide data to various stakeholders
  • Provide data and insights to support strategic decisions about software investments and usage
  • Monitor and ensure software is used efficiently and identify areas for optimization and cost savings
  • Establish ongoing policies and procedures surrounding the acquisition, documentation, deployment, usage and retirement of software
  • Manage software Cradle-to-Grave, ensuring removal of software applications that are no longer needed or used
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with software, such as security vulnerabilities and compliance issues
  • Working with various stakeholders, including Legal, Finance, and Procurement, to ensure effective software asset management
  • Work with Legal and CSOC to ensure that software usage complies with licensing agreements and legal requirements
  • Assist, support, participate, and execute any software audits
  • Enforce compliance with Global Relay Security Policies and Global Relay Server and end-use devise standards and protocols
  • Communicate and educate members of other functions on SAM policies, procedures, processes, and practices
  • Reduce the risk of security breaches, data loss, and other potential issues associated with software
  • Streamline licensed software deployment and management processes to improve overall efficiency
About you:
  • 5+ years of direct Software Asset Management (SAM) experience, preferably in enterprise environments
  • Advanced experience with enterprise SAM platforms (ServiceNow, Snow, Flexera, or similar)
  • Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently to build processes and frameworks
  • Advanced analytical and strategic thinking capabilities with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Professional SAM certification preferred (IAITAM, Snow certifications, or equivalent)
  • Expert knowledge of MS licensing models and cloud licensing optimization
Compensation:Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia's pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values.
