Job Title: Quality EngineerJob DescriptionThe Quality Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of molded parts throughout production. This role involves developing and maintaining inspection procedures, control plans, and quality documentation. The Quality Engineer will conduct first article inspections, support mold trials and validations, and analyze process data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Collaboration with production and engineering teams is essential to optimize molding parameters and reduce scrap. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies is also a key part of this position.Responsibilities
  • Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints.
  • Lead problem-solving activities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Use metrology tools to verify part dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure equipment accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Support regulatory and customer-specific quality requirements.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF standards.
  • Experience with plastic injection mold processes within the automotive industry.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with APQP and PPAP submissions.
  • Experience coordinating and supporting root cause investigations.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, MSA, and CMM reports.
  • Continuous improvement experience.
  • Familiarity with customer systems.
  • Understanding of QMS systems and customer requirements.
  • Internal auditor certification ISO 9001/IATF.
  • Experience in training others.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is based in a relatively smaller facility with approximately 50 people. The hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with overtime available after 40 hours.
