We are currently looking for a Protection & Control Engineer-in-Training to join our team out of our Burnaby, BC office.Location: Burnaby, BCYour role within the teamAs a member of Transmission, Distribution and Renewables team, you will:
  • Prepare Protection & Control designs from conceptual to implementation stage for Transmission, Distribution and Generating stations;
  • Perform design work in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code;
  • Prepare single line diagrams, DC/AC control schematics, panel layouts and bill of materials and detailed wiring diagrams;
  • Program Protection & Control devices;
  • Work on reports and calculations and perform site visits;
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver projects.

The ideal candidate
  • Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Is registered as an EIT with EGBC or is eligible for registration;
  • Has previous electrical design work experience in T&D and or Generation sector is an asset;
  • Has taken courses in Protection & Control at a University level or equivalent;
  • Must be willing to learn new technologies and programming of devices;
  • Experience with AutoCAD and PLC programming is an asset;
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral English communication skills and good work ethic.
