This role ensures that all technology solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, strategic objectives, security requirements, and operational scalability. The Technical Director provides leadership, oversight, and architecture reviews, for new systems and services driving consistency, quality, and fostering innovation across the organization’s technology landscape.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Review Board GovernanceLead the technical review board process, ensuring all proposed solutions adhere to established architecture principles, standards, and roadmaps.Chair or oversee Technical Review Board (TRB) sessions, driving clear, timely, and well-documented decisions.Establish and maintain governance frameworks, review criteria, and decision guidelines.Solution Oversight & FeedbackProtect to enable our business usersEnsure solutions are evaluated for scalability, performance, security, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with enterprise strategy.Recommend modifications to proposed solutions based on architectural fit and risk assessment.Ensure integration across systems, platforms, and business domains.Stakeholder EngagementPartner with senior technology leaders, product teams, and business stakeholders to align on architectural direction.Provide advisory and guidance to engineering, infrastructure, and application teams during design and delivery phases.Act as a key escalation point for architectural risks and decisions.Standards & Best PracticesDefine and evolve enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and reference architectures.Promote best practices in cloud, data, security, and application architecture.Drive adoption of modern technologies and architectural approaches where appropriate.Risk Management & ComplianceIdentify architectural risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and internal policy requirements.Maintain audit-ready documentation of architectural decisions and reviews.Continuous ImprovementOptimize and streamline the architectural review process for efficiency and effectiveness.Track and report on key metrics (e.g., review cycle time, compliance rates, exceptions).Foster a culture of continuous learning and architectural excellence.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.10+ years of experience in IT, with 5+ years in enterprise architecture or senior technical leadership roles.Proven experience leading architecture review boards or governance processes.Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF or equivalent).Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), distributed systems, and modern application architectures.Experience with security, data, and integration architectures.Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decision-making.Key CompetenciesStrategic thinking and enterprise-wide perspectiveStrong decision-making and risk assessmentExcellent communication and stakeholder managementTechnical depth across multiple domainsLeadership and team facilitationProcess design and continuous improvementSuccess MeasuresHigh adherence to enterprise architecture standardsReduction in architectural risks and technical debtEfficient and timely architecture review cyclesStrong stakeholder satisfaction and alignmentIncreased reuse of architectural patterns and componentsOur commitment to Sustainability and Social Impact is an essential part of the way we do business, and we focus our attention on areas where we can have the greatest impact.
