Employing over 100 employees, our skilled trades, engineering expertise, professionalism, project management experience and in-house capabilities make us the preferred choice for global engineered material handling solutions for the underground and surface mining, heavy construction, electrical power transmission and distribution, marine and offshore oil & gas sectors.POSITION OVERVIEWReporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Afternoon Shift Supervisor is position is responsible for supervising the manufacturing department on the afternoon shift. The Supervisor ensures employees are aware of all safety requirements and instructs them in the Company's Health & Safety Program. The position overview is to be used as a guideline only and may not incorporate all functions of the job.
  • Follow company planning system for production scheduling
  • Work with other department Supervisors' prepared work schedules of the assignments for employees
  • Inspect work in progress and completed to ensure conformance to specifications and adherence to quality standards
  • Issue purchase requisitions for materials and parts necessary to perform work
  • Maintain ISO-9001 Standards as they relate to manufacturing
  • Attend production meetings with the Manutacturing Manager and prepare reports on work in progress
  • Ensure compliance with the OHSA legislation
  • Participate in development and implementation of programs to protect employees' safety and health
ATTRIBUTES WE SEEK
  • Previous experience within a manufacturer of heavy equipment with leadership responsibilities
  • Effective leadership and team-building skills
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and effectively manage assignments
  • Journeyperson/licensed in a relevant skilled trade, or equivalent experience
  • Detail-oriented and self-directed in execution of tasks
  • Proven sense of urgency in completing tasks
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulics and electrical design and components
