- Ensure that established purchasing procedures are applied and respected;
- Research new sources of supply to reduce costs and improve the quality of maintenance products and services;
- Negotiate purchasing terms (price, deadlines, warranties, terms);
- Prepare and analyze cost comparison reports;
- Issue and manage purchase orders;
- Follow up on orders with suppliers;
- Prioritize orders and coordinate deliveries with suppliers;
- Develop and maintain good relationships with existing suppliers;
- Maintain effective communication with other departments (operations, finance);
- Maintain relationships with internal clients;
- Analyze and consolidate needs and vendors;
- Actively participate in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs);
- Any other related tasks;
- Hold a college diploma (DEC) or equivalent combination of experience;
- Have at least 5 years of experience in a purchasing department within a manufacturing company (experience in heavy mobile equipment parts is an asset);
- Be fluent in spoken and written French and English to communicate with our various suppliers in Canada and the United States;
- Be committed to quality;
- Ability to communicate effectively with different teams and processes;
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
- Be self-motivated and resourceful;
- Knowledge of ERP systems (Maximo is an asset);
- A valid driver's license is required due to regular travel to Montreal and Lévis, as well as to some suppliers.
