- Job Description
- Design and review the protection and control drawings of substation systems and power systems
- Collaborate with members of the engineering team as well as project managers from other disciplines
- Responsible of the development of electrical Command and Protection systems, including single-line diagrams, logic diagrams, three-line AC diagrams, protection and c.c. control diagrams, wiring drawings, device connection drawings, assembly plans, material lists and quotes for the manufacturing and installation on site of Control and Protection panels
- Supervise the development of AC and DC station service power systems, including single-line diagrams, AC & DC load calculations, AC & DC distribution diagrams, connection drawings of chargers, batteries, inverter, etc.
- Participate in site surveys (stations and power stations)
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines: equipment, civil, mechanical and building to develop design solutions for optimized and advanced substation and power plant systems
- Possibility of carrying out site work sporadically when the opportunity arises (start-up or monitoring)
- Perform QA/QC of the electrical engineering design packages
- Profile
- University Degree in Electrical engineering recognized in Canada
- Registered (or eligible to register as) member of a recognized Professional Engineering Association in Canada.
- 5+ years of experience working on P&C projects
- Good knowledge of protection and control principles and philosophies is mandatory
- Work experience in the design of electrical systems
- 3+ years' experience in detailed P&C design with major and/or local utilities in Canada
- Basic knowledge of the office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
