Job DescriptionOur client, a rapidly growing private company in Halifax, is seeking an experienced Controller to join their finance team.*]:pointer-events-auto scroll-mt-[calc(var(--header-height)+min(200px,max(70px,20svh)))]" dir="auto" data-turn-id="request-WEB:60a2b0af-62c6-4496-9645-6e56e045924a-1" data-testid="conversation-turn-4" data-scroll-anchor="true" data-turn="assistant">This role reports directly to the Director and works closely with senior leadership, as well as a dedicated and highly motivated accounting team. It combines hands-on financial oversight with meaningful strategic input to support both current operations and future business growth.Key Responsibilities for the Job:

Lead day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting
Oversee capital budgeting, forecasting, and project cost reporting
Manage financial systems and reporting using Yardi and Jonas
Support financial planning for large-scale projects and upcoming initiatives
Provide accurate, timely financial insights to support decision-making
Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and reporting standards
Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and systems

Experience & Attributes for Success:

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent experience
Strong background in accounting and capital project reporting
Hands-on experience with Yardi and/or Jonas
Proven leadership experience, complemented by a charismatic, positive, and engaging leadership style
Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with senior leadership
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
Collaborative, approachable, and solutions-oriented
Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-moving environment
