- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients focused on the Cognitive, Emotional, and Functional impacts of concussion.
- Apply clinical expertise and professional competence in the assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow-up of clients
- Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, specialized seating and positioning assessments
- Identification of appropriate equipment needs with initial recommendations
- Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete applications/funding letters to the Ministry of Health, insurance agencies and other funding parties
- Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs and adaptive aids, as well as providing ongoing education to clients and family to improve function, independence and safety
- Provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
- Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
- Excel in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment
- Exhibit sound professional judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
- 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred.
- Newly Licensed Graduates are welcome to apply.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience supporting WorkSafe BC, Canadian Veterans, ICBC, long-term disability, and referrals is a plus.
- In some cases, a Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check is necessary.
- Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
- Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
