(Less than 24 hours a week)Position DescriptionThe University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus invites applications for a fixed term part-time College Lecturer, teaching in the Horticulture Associate Diploma Program. This position is covered by the University of Guelph Faculty Association (UGFA) Unit 2. This appointment will begin at the end of August 2025 and will end in December 2025. The position is based at the Ridgetown Campus, in the municipality of Chatham-Kent, 200km southwest of the University's main campus in GuelphPosition Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in a related field with a minimum of three years of work experience. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field may be considered.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to develop presentations for diploma students.
- An ability to incorporate relevant, practical and applied experiences into teaching methods.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office and internet applications.
- Demonstrated record of diplomacy, teamwork, and time management.
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level with a commitment to student success.
- Knowledge of plant morphology, botanical plant names and classification, and a demonstrated broad, and in-depth knowledge of specific cultivated plants.
- A related professional designation or industry recognized certification.
