Own your direction, Own your development and Own your path.What you’ll doMaintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and safety of equipment at our Mill by performing general maintenance tasks, preventive maintenance, and repairs. This position supports uninterrupted production operations by proactively identifying and resolving issues.Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections to reduce downtime, complete accurate computer-based entries, including Team PM tasks and work order submissionsConduct basic electrical and boiler maintenanceFabricate and install new equipment or systems as requiredEnforce safety procedures to minimize injury risk and reduce recordable incidentsSchedule and coordinate downtime with production for maintenance and repairsMaintain inventory and order parts to ensure availability of sparesFill out all corresponding permits required for each task without fail (e.g., hot work, confined space, lockout/tagout)Ensure all major expenditures are communicated to and approved by the Plant Manager before proceedingMay assist with production tasks only when all maintenance responsibilities are complete and with approval from the Plant ManagerUnionized position under the Canada - Grain and General Services Union (GSU) agreementWho we’re looking forMillwright ticket or actively working toward certification (asset)Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and computerized work order platforms (e.g., Team PM)Ability and availability to work rotational shifts and overtime as requiredAbility to work in shiftsYou’ll also needAbility to regularly bend, twist, climb ladders, open/close lids and stand for extended periodsAbility to lift and move up to 25 kg (55 lbs) regularlyMillwright ticket or actively working toward certification (asset)Ability to focus on details within a fast-paced environmentParticipate in a rotating on-call schedule Rotating shifts may be required, including occasional weekends or extended hours based on operational needsWhat you’ll receiveAs part of Nutreco, you’ll be a member of the SHV family, a diverse group of companies with global footprint.
