- Provide leadership on operational matters including drilling technical issues, drills and ancillary equipment, and ensuring competency development.

- Ensure relevant operational systems, processes and practices exist, are understood, and applied consistently throughout the zone. Alignment to global BLY operating standards, systems, and metrics.
- Partner with the Regional Fleet & Asset Manager to ensure equipment meets the requirements of the drilling standard and client requirements.
- Extensive travel may be required for site visits/inspections.
- Facilitate ongoing vital communication between employees, operations, and the client.
- Maintain all required documentation including safety, administrative, and employee management and send necessary documentation to Head Office.
- Maintain knowledge of specific requirements imposed by governing bodies.
- Balance competing & conflicting requirements consistent with Company values & business principles.
- Schedule required human and physical assets for each project.
- Maintain an accurate and full account of all daily drilling operations including safety, production, downtime, and any incidents.
- Serve as customer contact for contractual issues and attend periodic meetings with the customer to report on project progress, site issues and any other matters.
- Achieve operational plans that deliver expected results for safety, talent development, revenue, cost, asset maintenance, and margins.
- Develop market opportunity through new projects or capital equipment.
- Create long term stability through sufficient talent acquisition and development, organization design, and unified team environment.
- Other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma, especially in mining or geology, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 7 years experience in the Drilling Services industry.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Proven and demonstrated leadership skills to communicate goals, while motivating employees to achieve identified targets.
- Demonstrated business planning skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
- Aptitude for solving problems.
- Comfortable with MS Office tools.
