Why This Role ExistsHorizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior Accountant to support a growing accounting team undergoing ERP transformation and operational centralization. As the organization expands across Western Canada, this role will help drive consistency, accuracy, and insight across all finance functions. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-evolving, collaborative environment and takes pride in owning their work from end to end.Responsibilities:
  • Lead assigned areas such as reconciliations, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets
  • Drive accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings
  • Prepare financial reports and internal statements to support decision-making
  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage intercompany accounts
  • File GST and PST returns and assist with tax reporting requirements
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and costing activities
  • Collaborate with external and internal auditors during financial reviews
  • Contribute to ERP (Sage X3) implementation by improving and documenting processes
  • Translate financial insights into actionable information for non-finance colleagues
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
  • Support ESG and regulatory reporting as needed
Requirements:
  • CPA designation or near completion
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables; PowerBI a bonus
  • Comfortable working with multiple systems and large datasets
  • Manufacturing or similar industry experience preferred
  • Previous Sage (any version) experience an asset, X3 not required
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a knack for clear communication
  • Willingness to work full-time in office, with some flexibility after training
