- Supervise and manage the payroll process for approximately 1,000 employees, including unionized and hourly staff.
- Conduct detailed audits to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
- Collaborate with IT teams to develop tools and applications that streamline year-end reporting processes.
- Support the integration of new payroll systems and assist with data migration and validation.
- Generate and analyze payroll reports to provide actionable insights for management.
- Lead and mentor a team of payroll specialists, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Oversee the transition from manual timesheets to automated systems, ensuring smooth implementation.
- Communicate effectively with various departments and stakeholders to address payroll-related inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, union agreements, and company policies.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll with previous Supervisor experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce and strong Excel skills for reporting and data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise audits and ensure compliance with payroll standards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Familiarity with year-end payroll processes and reporting requirements.
- Experience in managing and mentoring a team to achieve departmental goals.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
