As the Licensed Practical Nurse covering the County of Flagstaff, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in your community. Reporting to the Care Manager, you will use your strong assessment, organizational, and leadership skills to deliver quality nursing care to clients in the community and to provide leadership and supervision of Health Care Aides. The successful candidate will play a key role on the interdisciplinary team, collaborating in the delivery of holistic, client and family centered care. Your role will require you to work independently in client homes, lift and carry medical bags and be comfortable working in all weather conditions. In this role, you will utilize your strong oral and written communication, and deliver quality nursing care to clients in all developmental stages in the community. Utilizing your experience in wound care, palliative care and client teaching, you will take a collaborative approach to meeting health goals, contribute to the nursing diagnosis and participate in nursing interventions and outcomes. Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position: This position requires frequent physical demands including walking, bending, lifting, and standing and driving for long periods of time. Transferring patients of varying sizes and degrees of mobility. Transporting supplies and equipment. Driving in all weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications:Appropriate competency in Meditech, Care Manager and RAI-HC programs and knowledge of Outlook and MS Teams. Broad knowledge of provincial, regional, and local community resources.
