I'm looking for a part time live-out caregiver for my wife of 76 years for approximately 8-12 hours a week to start. Salary is negotiable. Some of the services / duties I'm looking for are the following: Light household cleaning (laundry, vacuuming and cleaning floors) Meal preparation / cooking (lunch preparation) Personal care / body care (help with showering, dressing) 4. Companionship while I'm out of the house (ie. games, conversations, short walks) Some things to know about my wife, She is Chinese Canadian and speaks rudimentary Cantonese, but prefers to speak English and speak fluent English. She used to be a resource teacher helping students with disabilities. Has a diagnosis of dementia. She forgets basic things like forgetting to eat meals or turning on stove or what you told her in conversation. She will repeat questions and information many times and not remember saying it. Experiences urinary incontinence for past 8 months; wears depends. Forgets to put away DVD discs or exit program after watching TV. When she gets frustrated or annoyed, she often makes comments that she will end her life, but best not to engage her when she says these remarks. Had breast cancer but has since recovered. Uses a vaginal pessary for a vaginal hernia.
