Job Description:Major Job FunctionsTroubleshoot and repair Caterpillar Equipment and other manufactures attachments related to Forestry and general line equipmentInterface with customers, products and sales supportProviding support with reference to on-site safety requirementsMaintain Finning Customer Service CommitmentVarious related duties as required**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**Specific Skills & ExperienceJourneyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification (Red Seal is an asset)Minimum of 5 years’ experience repairing equipmentMust be proficient in all machine systems such as engines, emissions, electrical, hydraulic and powertrainMust be fluent in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics and well versed with control systemsStrong organizational, interpersonal and communication skillsSelf-motivated and computer literateExperience with Costwatcher, DBS, SIS and Warranty Systems as well as a good understanding of Finning systems, would all be assetsSuccessful candidate will need to be customer orientated and motivated to meet the customer's expectationsAbility to work safely with minimal supervisionNOTEThis position will work a 5x2 ShiftA recent driver’s abstract is requiredA condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respiratorPlease be advised, the successful candidate for this position will currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to the Houston/Smithers areaNote: Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position.
