Reports To: Director of Business DevelopmentI am currently recruiting for a Proposal Writer on behalf of a well-established construction firm specializing in new-builds, renovations and additions. This organization has built a strong reputation for ethical business practices, long-term partnerships, and high-quality project delivery across complex construction projects.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience managing multiple proposal submissions at various stages of completion.Key Responsibilities
- Support the pursuit of leads and opportunities that contribute to new business development.
- Review and interpret Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to help develop response strategies and themes.
- Assist with writing, editing, proofreading, and coordinating proposal submissions.
- Ensure proposal documents and standardized company content meet formatting and brand guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to finalize content and coordinate production of submission packages.
- Provide additional business development support as required.
- Post-secondary education in Technical Writing, Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, or a related field. Knowledge of engineering or construction is considered an asset.
- 2-5 years of Canadian professional experience in proposal writing or professional business writing, including managing and developing corporate proposals. Experience within a construction environment is an asset.
- Strong proposal writing skills, with the ability to prepare technical content.
- Excellent reading comprehension and written/verbal communication skills in English.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Strong coordination and time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
