- Client-driven subject matter expert in the field of export-import controls and licensing on behalf of a global nuclear company, or other similarly regulated field in energy or defence.
- Supervise and maintain the Company’s export-import control and licensing programs with Global Affairs Canada, CNSC and other intergovernmental agencies in Canada related to the Company’s exports and imports permits and licenses required for the transfer of controlled nuclear equipment, parts, and technical data/technology.
- Supports All Candu functions and projects to ensure controlled goods and technology are being transferred under valid permits and licenses issued by Global Affairs Canada and the CNSC.
- Tracks all expired, valid, and planned permit and licenses at the Company. Responsible for communicating all near expiring documentation to ensure continuity of coverage.
- Supports the internal intake process and service centre responsible for collecting all requisite information, assessment, application compilation, submission (using NEXCOL system), tracking, enforcement and reporting.
- Coordinates with internal, inter-company and third party (Vendor) personnel and project management groups, as well as other technical stakeholders, to ensure the accuracy and compliance of the submissions to GAC and CNSC on behalf of Company.
- Facilitates internally focused educational and awareness campaign regarding all matters Export-Import Control related with the view of promoting the program, answering questions from key stakeholders and establishing FAQ type information for internal users to consult.
- Remains abreast of all amendments to policies related to international trade compliance regulations pertaining to the export and import of controlled nuclear goods and technology to and from Canada classified under GAC’s Export Control List regulation, and CNSC Schedule.
- Responsible for all reporting (internal and external) of Company’s export permit control and import/export licensing activities in accordance with regulatory requirements established on granting of permit and license.
- Preferred experience in Aerospace, Défense or Nuclear sectors.
- Post-Secondary education.
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge working with Canadian export control and CNSC licensing processes for nuclear controlled goods and technology; or similarly controlled goods and information.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to cross reference and interpret the applicable regulations and legislation with the situational fact base the internal customer is presenting.
- Must possess character, integrity, and the ability to deal effectively with cross functional stakeholders.
- Must have the ability to work independently and possess effective communication skills (written and spoken).
- Has a “client-driven” mindset with the capacity to engage clearly and concisely as an Export Control SME at all levels of the organization.
- Collaborator able to work seamless in both functional -hierarchical organization lines as well in multi -countries matrix created organization within the Atkins Realis group of companies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs and knowledge of the EXCOL submission platform on the GAC website.

- This position requires the ability to obtain Reliability Status security clearance from the Government of Canada May be required to travel.
