- Prepare comprehensive lease credit applications, including financial statement analysis, cash flow modelling, covenant assessment, third party report summaries, and industry research.
- Provide recommendations on structure including mitigation strategies that balance risk and member needs.
- Conduct deep-dive analysis of corporate financial statements, tax returns, cash flow projections to assess the credit risk of potential leases.
- Assist with assessment of new lease applications, design and price lease structures, due diligence, research and credit applications, and make recommendations that adhere to DUCA's policies and risk guidelines.
- Perform valuation research on various equipment types to set appropriate structures to mitigate collateral risk.
- Utilize financial modeling tools (e.g. T-Value, Spreadsheet, Internal Systems etc.) to calculate various ratios, return and value.
- Liaise with Members, solicitors, appraisers, brokers, and internal partners (credit, operation, internal audit and finance) to support ongoing management of credit facilities.
- Assist in complying with AML requirements prior to funding a lease.
- Monitor the existing lease portfolio for performance, conducting annual reviews and identifying early warning signs of credit deterioration.
- Communicate with Commercial Leasing Members on a day-to-day basis, responding to questions and inquiries regarding products, services and advice.
- Assist with portfolio management duties and other day-to-day duties.
- Analyze industry segments, competitive conditions, and economic trends to assess risks and identify opportunities within the commercial lease portfolio.
- Bachelor's degree in business/finance/accounting/economics or related field.
- 3+ years' experience in banking or related field considered an asset.
- 2+ years' experience with financial statement analysis and modeling.
- Prior commercial equipment financing/leasing experience preferred but not a requirement.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information, third party reports, legal agreements and assess creditworthiness.
- Mastery of Microsoft Excel (Complex Modeling) and familiarity with lease pricing software.
- Highly proficient with the other Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to exercise sound judgement to resolve issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle multiple competing tasks, ensuring priorities are assessed and managed to meet deadlines and organizational objectivesEffective team player and ability to work well within a group setting.
