- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met. Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, ensure financial objectives are met. Work with Administration staff to complete various financial management activities, including invoicing, collections/AR, backlog analysis, etc.
- Work with Contract Administration staff to oversee construction activities, ensuring they are completed to the required quality standards, and resolve any on-site issues that arise. Attend pre-construction meetings
- Manage or support post construction activities as required for objectives such as letter of credit reductions, construction certifications, municipal assumption activities, registration clearances, etc.
- Oversee and contribute to the design and engineering of site and subdivision development projects, including grading and drainage, sewer and water infrastructure, project phasing, utility coordination, stormwater management, low-impact development, and erosion and sedimentation control. (use of Civil 3D and other land development software is an asset but not required)
- Work closely with other project managers, Team Leads, and designers to perform various design and approval related tasks, including preparation and coordination of Preliminary Servicing Reports (PSI), Functional Servicing Reports, Design Briefs, and Stormwater Management Reports
- Work directly with the project consultant team and client representatives to facilitate design coordination as well as direct contact with approval agencies to expedite addressing comments
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to junior staff and assist in their skill development and growth
- Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
- Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
- Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a relatable degree
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario
- Expert knowledge of Subdivision and Site Plan Design
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is an asset
- A working knowledge of Stormwater Management practices and techniques
- Minimum of 8 years project management experience in the Civil/Land Development Sector
- Excellent communication and report writing skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple project timelines
- Experience working on projects in southwestern Ontario is an asset
- Experience related to subdivision design and approvals in preferred
- Experience with a wide variety of land development projects is an asset
- A passion for learning new ways to use the design software to produce smarter & faster designs and a desire to be on the leading edge and stay there
