
Clinical Practice Manager, Sexual Assault / Domestic Violence Treatment Centre

The Clinical Practice Manager actively contributes to the ongoing professional development of both self and colleagues, and participates in unit-level and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives. This role is accountable for integrating current theory and evidence-based research into clinical practice, ensuring the delivery of patient care aligns with the hospital’s vision, values, and the standards set forth by the Network.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership to the individual program SA/DV nurses – provide mentorship/guidance/support.
- Coordinate collaboration between the nurses, counsellors and other clinicians.
- Provide orientation/on-boarding of new nurses to the team. Ensure nurses meet the requirements to attend virtual SANE training
- Complete chart reviews and provide feedback to clinicians
- Lead nurse team meetings
- Provide leadership in vicarious trauma support for clinicians
- Provide outreach/education to community partners including; emergency departments, police, community agency staff.
- Ensure compliance with reporting requirements such as Network data reporting
- Support clinicians with use of REDCap database and review data entered into REDCap prior to submission
- Ensure program policy and procedures, Medical Directives and documentation are up to date
- Participate in program leader meetings, program educator meetings, nurse CoP meetings
- Leadership in pediatric care
- Work in collaboration with the Regional Clinical Practice Leader
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge base and clinical competence in SA/DV.
- Demonstrated skills in problem solving, analytical skills and creative thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative team approach and to adhere to accepted standards of personal conduct.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining/enhancing competence through participation in appropriate continuing education activities and nursing research.
- Excellent written and oral therapeutic communication skills.
- General knowledge of computers, including keyboard and mouse skills, Word, Excel and Outlook Calendar.
- Self-direct and self-organized with the ability to work within timelines.
- Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario – required
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing – required
- Minimum five (5) years SA/DV experience – required
- Minimum (3) years patient/family/staff/ teaching experience – required
- Current Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Certification – required
- Recent experience on the SATC Response Team – required
- Safekids Trained – required
- Comprehensive knowledge and competence in the area of sexual assault/abuse
