- Participate in the deployment, configuration and support of systems at Irving’s many location. This may involve networking, server and workstations, access controls, digital video recording systems, and business applications
- Apply knowledge, skills and experience to help identify business requirements and solve complex problems
- Respond to mixed priority technical support incidents and requests using the ITSM support portal
- Work independently to ensure that support requests are kept up to date and contain sufficient relevant information
- Foster strong relationships with End User Services, IT Security and Enterprise Systems to increase support delivery and ensure systems availability
- Utilize established relationships with project managers, systems administrators, and end users to define systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues
- Provide consultative services within defined guidelines to the user community to ensure appropriate levels of support are given, problems are resolved in a timely way, and enhancements are prioritized improvements to support the business
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams across the Irving Oil organization
- Strong time management, planning, and prioritization skills to meet deadlines effectively
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Demonstrates sound judgment, attention to detail, organizational strength, and a positive attitude
- Quickly adaptable to unfamiliar systems and technical solutions
- Skilled at engaging stakeholders and solution vendors to translate business needs into actionable outcomes with excellent troubleshooting capability and creativity to solve problems independently
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 3–5 years of hands-on experience across multiple systems, including Microsoft infrastructure and applications (PowerShell, O365, Azure)
- Proven expertise in implementing, and supporting Microsoft-centric business environments, and network/security concepts
- Skilled in technical documentation, system wiring, racking, testing of network devices, and collaborating on high-level solution designs; ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and processes with previous experience with Milestone XProtect (or other DVR systems), Hanwha Cameras and others, C-Cure and Salto door controls, Meraki/Cisco network equipment would be an asset
