Winnipeg, ManitobaOn behalf of our client, MacDon Industries we are recruiting for a Project Manager. Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Project Manager will participate in both medium and large sized capital and organizational change projects supporting Operations and other departments.This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining project plans; controlling risk and managing project changes, while reporting on the project plan, ensuring the available resources are assigned appropriately. The Project Manager is accountable for delivering the objectives on approved projects, within the triple constraint of scope, schedule and cost. The Project Manager will work on multiple concurrent projects. Based on the areas of expertise the Project Manager may be asked to mentor/coach more junior staff.The Project Manager is responsible for:
- Developing project plans in collaboration with business process owners and all applicable stakeholders including defining scope, objectives, timelines, resources and deliverables.
- Maintaining, updating and reporting progress against approved project plans.
- Creating and distributing project communications to all stakeholders.
- Applying an organizational change management approach to minimize disruption and support adoption and sustainment of the changes brought by the project through planned engagement of the employee and leadership base throughout the project.
- Ensuring adequate risk management is performed and project risks are communicated to stakeholders.
- Fostering a collaborative and positive team environment. Ensure that existing resources are appropriately utilized.
- Accountability to deliver all project objectives on time and on budget.
- Educating and mentoring staff and stakeholders in project management methodology.
- Managing multiple concurrent projects to successful completion.
- University Degree/Technical Diploma in Engineering or Commerce, PMP is an asset.
- 7+ years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment, with experience collaborating at all levels of staff from front-line to senior leadership.
- Prior experience running multiple concurrent projects of various size & complexity is required.
- Capital project experience, including overseeing major selection & installation of equipment.
- Experience leading change in an organization with a collective bargaining agreement.
- Must be advanced in all MS Office products; MS Project and Visio is required.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience with lean value stream mapping and facilitation is required.
