Further information is available at .POSITION SUMMARY:The Materials Planning Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting world-class materials planning and execution across multiple business units, including Transit and Coach operations (WPR, ANN, SCL, 1M1, and 1M2). This role oversees inventory accuracy, MRP execution, job release planning, and engineering change implementation, while driving continuous improvement, lean practices, and operational excellence. The Supervisor manages a cross-functional planning team, ensuring alignment with KPIs, capacity planning, and compliance with ISO and regulatory standards. Additionally, the role supports budgeting, employee development, and performance management to meet departmental and organizational goals.WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Lead and supervise materials planning across multiple business units (Transit and Coach), driving continuous improvement initiatives and aligning departmental goals with overall business objectives
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and control by overseeing cycle counts, reconciliation, root cause analysis, and reduction of obsolete inventory adjustments
  • Manage MRP execution and production planning, including timely release of work orders, monitoring Order Action Summary (OAS) targets, and implementing Engineering Change Orders
  • Coordinate cross functional planning activities, including communication between plants, dispatch, kitting, and supplier coordination, while overseeing capacity planning, insourcing/outsourcing, and weekly capacity meetings
  • Track and report on departmental KPIs and compliance, ensuring adherence to MRB processes, job accuracy (504 series, reject requirements) and timely data entry into the system
  • Support team development through training, cross- training, and updates to the Training Matrix, OPI, and work instructions to maintain ISO designation and organizational standards.
  • Manage departmental operations and personnel, including performance reviews, attendance, timesheets, budget adherence, and operational expense control.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, quality, safety, and environmental regulations, and represent the Materials department in production, metrics, and project-based meetings.
RequirementsWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Post secondary education with a focus on logistics, supply chain, and/or industrial supervision
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment with a focus on supervision
  • An analytical mind that is solutions oriented, with the ability to work in a fast- paced environment
  • Exceptional time management, organizational, and communication skills
  • APICS certification considered an asset
  • Prior experience in a unionized environment considered an asset
