Our Distribution group is currently looking to add a Labourer to our growing team, based in Sherwood Park, AB.Reporting to the Foreman or Lead Hand, we are seeking experienced construction Labourers to help install shallow-utilities (power, gas and telecommunications) in new residential subdivisions in and around the Greater Edmonton area. This position requires the ability to work long hours working outdoors, working as a cohesive group.Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lay power cable, telecom pipe, gas pipe in trenches up to 1.5m deep
  • Set telecom peds, precast bases, sanding trench, moving material
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Operate jumping-jacks, and other handheld or portable equipment
  • Operate skidsteer and backhoe at times safely onsite
  • Read and understand construction drawings for specific tasks given
  • Complete time sheets, vehicle pre-trip inspections and other paperwork as assigned
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisors
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a team-oriented construction environment
  • Must have a valid Class-5 driver’s license and an acceptable drivers abstract
  • Must have own vehicle to get to site
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outside for extended periods of time
  • Must be flexible to working varying hours
  • Strong team member with a positive attitude
