- Provide guidance to employees and management on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation
- Support grievance, absenteeism, and disciplinary processes, including documentation and follow-up
- Assist with workplace investigations, ensuring fairness and consistency
- Maintain confidential employee records and documentation
- Support managers with employee-related concerns and provide practical, policy-aligned solutions
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and offer preparation
- Coordinate interviews, testing, and reference checks
- Maintain recruitment databases and hiring metrics
- Support employer branding initiatives, career fairs, and community engagement
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation sessions
- Track and deliver HR and OHS training programs
- Conduct gap analyses and support the development of training initiatives
- Maintain job descriptions and training records
- Support workplace safety programs and ensure compliance with OHS legislation
- Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and documentation
- Participate in safety committees and initiatives
- Promote a culture of safety through education and continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate records within HRIS (e.g., BambooHR)
- Compile and analyze HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, performance, etc.)
- Prepare reports and documentation related to HR and safety initiatives
- Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs) and assist with year-end reporting (e.g., T4s)
- Conduct exit interviews and provide insights for organizational improvement
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role
- Strong knowledge of employment standards and Occupational Health & Safety legislation
- Experience working in unionized environments is considered an asset
- Proven ability to manage sensitive employee relations matters
- Experience with HRIS systems (BambooHR or similar)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
