- Support the planning and delivery of community engagement activities for resource and infrastructure clients
- Contribute to social performance reporting and analysis by maintaining databases, monitoring commitments, compiling metrics, and helping develop summaries and insights to support project decision-making and compliance
- Record, research and prepare for client audits to identify and anticipate any social risks to project development, including solutions to meet these challenges
- Support environmental and social impact assessments by establishing socio-economic baselines, community profiles, social risk assessments, and identifying potential project impacts to communities and stakeholders.
- Assist clients as they deliver upon their socioeconomic commitments and support the development of plans to meet industry best practices
- Assist in developing concordance tables and cross-reference material to ensure our clients are meeting any regulatory duties of engagement for environmental assessments in collaboration with our Environment, People, and Place team
- Support with community and Indigenous participation planning and implementation
- Identify client opportunities with project managers across the Hatch organization and externally
- Share your experiences with colleagues and clients at speaking events, networking events, conferences, webinars and through online blog posts
- Post-secondary education in environmental studies, communications, sustainability, policy, planning and economic development
- 2-4 years (Analyst) or 5-9 years (Specialist) or 10-15 years (Senior Specialist) of directly related experience in community and stakeholder engagement, impact assessment, or communications
- Experience working on (Analyst) or leading (Senior Specialist) related major projects
- Creative and approachable with a willingness to recommend innovative solutions with clients
- Willingness for both domestic and international travel as work requires
- Willingness to learn on the job and work on broader environmental and placemaking projects, as appropriate.
- Effective, open communication and presentation style with the ability to plan and deliver best in class, high quality deliverables.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
