Worker Type: EmployeeJob Post End Date: 09/10/2025About this opportunity:The Senior Process Engineer will increase develop project scopes in Front End Development at our Canadian Assets. This role will focus will validate business need and develop low sustainable cost solution to help assure the capital portfolio is competitive by minimizing capital dollars on sustaining capital. This role will also provide technical support on execution and commissioning as well as procedure development, setting up laboratory changes, and operations/technical training. The Senior Process Engineer will work with estimating and scheduling resources as well as economics and cashflows for engineering and economic review.Interested in working in Lloydminster?Work Environment:This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the areaWhat you’ll do:Lead the front-end project development phase, develop project justifications, analyse and validate data for concept development, and define capital timesCollaborate with various teams to validate assumptions and develop economic models to compare opportunities based on return, complexity, and strategic alignment.Assess the project scope and determine risk ranking or economic justification for approvals, reducing complexity, cost and ability to resolve risk competitively on sustaining capitalDevelop margin improvement projects to support growth in our assets, verifying economics and determining minimum technical solution to gain margin improvementsProvide process engineering oversight by developing basis of design, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, supporting MOC, and reviewing/approving key design deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, H&MBs, equipment sizing, relief calculations, process safety information)Develop project premise documents at concept development (FED1) and Basis for Design documents at Select (FED 2)Who you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:Legally authorized to work in CanadaBachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Petroleum EngineeringA member in good standing or eligible for registration with APEGA or APEGSMinimum 8 years of refining process engineering and project engineering experienceStrong technical computing literacy to support modeling, simulation and data analysisWilling to travel approximately 10-15% of the timeWe acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessmentsFor this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines.
