
Water Resources Engineer

- Support engineering assessments and designs for water distribution, sanitary collection, and stormwater conveyance networks, natural watercourses, floodplain and flood hazard mapping, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, statistical analysis, and similar disciplines.
- Prepare technical drawings, design reports, calculations, and other documentation under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Participate in field work including site inspections, and construction observation to support design and data collection.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams on civil infrastructure and environmental projects throughout Alberta.
- Provide project support by taking on project management tasks and coordination activities.
- Assist with regulatory submissions, permitting documentation, and engagement materials for municipal, provincial, and federal approvals.
- Bachelor's degree in civil or water resources engineering (or a related field); a postgraduate degree in water resource management is desirable.
- 3+ years of experience in water resource engineering work and management, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Registration as a P.Eng. or eligible for registration within six months in Alberta is required.
- Solid knowledge of water resource engineering theories and methodologies.
- Proficiency with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, InfoWorks, WaterCAD, etc.).
- Knowledge of statistical analysis in hydrological applications.
- Strong programming skills (with Python, R, C++) are an asset.
- Previous experience with AI and machine learning is an asset.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS and Civil3D is an asset.
