By joining our team, you will be immersed in a dynamic and thought-provoking environment that tests your capabilities and pushes you to new heights.We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Manufacturing Technician who supports the planning, development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing methods and production systems. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, the role focuses on process optimization, production efficiency, quality assurance, safety compliance, and technical documentation related to industrial manufacturing activities.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineers and production managers to develop, refine, and optimize manufacturing processes, workflows, and plant layouts to improve efficiency, throughput, and material flow.
  • Conduct time and motion studies, work measurement analyses, and performance evaluations to assess labor utilization, equipment effectiveness, capacity, and overall production performance.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze operational and production data to support cost estimation, scheduling, production planning, and technical reporting.
  • Develop, standardize, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other manufacturing documentation to ensure process consistency and compliance.
  • Support quality assurance initiatives by assisting with inspection procedures, tracking nonconformances, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to maintain quality standards.
  • Promote a safe work environment by supporting health, safety, and fire prevention programs, participating in audits, conducting risk assessments, and contributing to Joint Health & Safety Committee activities.
  • Set up, adjust, and validate manufacturing equipment and process parameters to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality requirements.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to production teams, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support metal fabrication operations, including welding, bending, laser cutting, and mechanical assembly processes.
  • Assist with production planning, material flow coordination, and inventory-related process improvements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings; contribute to facility layout design and production optimization projects.
  • Develop and implement tools or applications to support manufacturing processes, automation, and production data analysis.
  • Supervise sheet metal personnel and oversee daily production activities to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company standards.
Education Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a 1- to 2-year program, or equivalent experience College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the following areas:
Technical & Manufacturing Requirements
  • Hands-on experience working in a food-grade manufacturing or automated equipment environment, including awareness of hygienic design principles and contamination control.
  • Practical experience assembling, testing, and supporting robotic or automated electromechanical systems, including mechanical subassemblies, actuators, sensors, conveyors, and enclosure systems.
  • Working knowledge of stainless-steel fabrication for food-contact and near-food contact components, including surface finish requirements, fastener selection, and cleanability considerations.
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication and precision mechanical assembly for robotic systems, including tolerance control and repeatability.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs) for robotic or automated equipment.
  • Experience supporting prototype builds and low-to-medium volume production of complex machines.
Food Safety & Compliance Requirements
  • Understanding of food safety standards and regulatory requirements relevant to automated food equipment, including NSF/ANSI or equivalent sanitation standards (equipment design awareness)
  • Ability to support manufacturing processes that meet food-grade cleanliness, traceability, and documentation requirements.
  • Experience collecting and documenting quality and sanitation data to support internal quality systems and customer audits.
Automation, Testing & Process Control
  • Experience assisting with functional testing, validation, and verification of automated or robotic food production equipment.
  • Ability to support process validation activities, including repeatability testing, cycle time verification, and yield tracking.
  • Experience setting up and monitoring process parameters for automated equipment (mechanical, thermal, or motion-related), under engineering guidance.
  • Familiarity with basic industrial automation concepts, such as sensors, limit switches, safety interlocks, and fault detection.
Production & Continuous Improvement
  • Experience conducting time and motion studies on automated or semi-automated production lines to improve throughput and reduce waste.
  • Ability to identify manufacturing bottlenecks, assembly inefficiencies, and quality risks in robotic system production.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives (Lean manufacturing, 5S, or similar methodologies) in a high-mix manufacturing environment.
Safety & Workplace Requirements
  • Knowledge of industrial and robotic safety practices, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and safe work procedures.
  • Experience participating in or supporting a Joint Health & Safety Committee, safety audits, and incident investigations.

Technical Requirements
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and other Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Experience with software development and programming, including C++.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management software (e.g., MS Project or equivalent).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint
  • Experience with file management systems and document control practices.
  • Solid understanding of Windows operating systems (MS Windows).
  • Ability to develop and utilize technical software tools to support engineering and manufacturing processes.
