Quality Assurance Manager$60,000 - $70,000North York (Mississauga)Our client, a well-established and growing Canadian manufacturer of customized food ingredients and seasoning solutions, is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact role with a defined progression into a broader Technical leadership position.Currently based in North York, the operation will be relocating to a new facility in Mississauga in Summer 2026, supporting continued growth across the Canadian market.About the OpportunityThis role is ideal for a quality professional who is looking for more than just day-to-day QA oversight. You will begin by taking ownership of the company’s quality and food safety programs, with a clear mandate to learn, strengthen, and enhance existing systems.With a structured 2–3 year succession plan, this position is designed to evolve into a Technical Manager role, becoming the key internal expert across regulatory, specifications, and product compliance.You will work closely with leadership and have the support of a Co-op Food Science student, allowing you to focus on both execution and continuous improvement.What You’ll Be Doing
  • Managing and enhancing the company’s Quality Management System (HACCP, GFSI-based standards such as BRC/FSSC/ISO)
  • Leading day-to-day QA activities including product inspections, documentation, and program compliance
  • Investigating non-conformances and driving root cause and corrective actions
  • Ensuring compliance with Canadian and U.S. regulatory requirements and maintaining accurate product specifications
  • Supporting and leading internal and external audits, ensuring audit readiness
  • Collaborating with operations, R&D, and leadership to continuously improve quality and food safety practices
  • Providing direction to junior support (Co-op student) while helping build structure and consistency across QA processes
What You Bring
  • ~2–4 years of experience in quality assurance within food manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of GFSI-recognized quality systems (e.g., HACCP, BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, whether through direct people management, mentoring, or taking ownership of key quality processes and initiatives
  • A hands-on, detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills
  • Proven ability to take initiative and drive improvements independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
