This role is primarily focused on developing high-quality, targeted resumes and cover letters for both private sector and public service opportunities, including federal government priority hiring process.Working remotely, the successful candidate will collaborate with veterans to translate military experience into compelling civilian language, helping them effectively market their skills, qualifications, and leadership experience to prospective employers.This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting veterans in achieve successful and sustainable employment outcomes. Depending on experience and organizational needs, additional vocational rehabilitation services may also be part of this role.Responsibilities include:
  • Develop tailored, high-quality resumes and cover letters for veterans targeting:
  • Private sector roles
  • Public service positions, including federal government applications and priority hiring process
  • Translate military occupations, training, and experience into clear, results-driven civilian language
  • Collaborate one-on-one with clients to gather employment history, achievements, and career goals
  • Ensure application documents align with current labour market trends and hiring practice
  • Provide guidance on federal government resume formats, screening criteria, and application process
  • Maintain accurate and detailed client documentation
Additional responsibility may include:
  • Completing employment planning for injured or disabled individuals
  • Conducting vocational profiles to assess employment history, education and experience
  • Assessing transferable skills and employment barriers
  • Facilitating job search training or workshops
  • Conducting labor market research to inform career planning
  • Marketing clients to prospective employers
  • Providing job placement support, career and employment counselling
Qualifications
  • University degree preferred (psychology, education, kinesiology, health sciences, rehabilitation etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years experience within the provision of vocational rehabilitation including resume writing
  • RRP, CVP, MCVP, CCRC, CRC, CVRP, CCVE or other related professional designation and/or eligibility to obtain designation would be an asset.
  • Related experience with vocational assessments would be an asset.
  • Candidates should have a strong understanding of the local labour market
  • Bilingual in English and French is a strong asset
