Construction EstimatorOur client is seeking a Construction Estimator to deliver accurate, transparent, and well‑structured project estimates while supporting drafting and plan development for residential construction projects. This role serves as a critical link between sales, design, and production by converting conceptual plans into detailed cost breakdowns and build‑ready documentation. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of residential construction, a high level of attention to detail, and a structured, analytical approach.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

Maintain and enhance estimating and pricing systems to support accurate and efficient estimate creation
Manage supplier and trade pricing, including updates, reviews, and confirmation of project‑specific costs
Build and maintain clear cost codes, groups, and allowances that align with scope and specifications
Review estimates critically to identify missing scope, inconsistencies, or construction risks
Cross‑check pricing against drawings, specifications, and sales information to ensure completeness
Develop clean, coordinated plan sets including permit, framing, electrical, drywall, paint, and soundproofing plans
Ensure all plans meet applicable building code requirements and align with approved pricing
Identify design issues or impractical elements prior to construction
Support alignment and clarity between sales, design, and production teams through accurate documentation

Your strengths include:

2+ years of experience in residential construction estimating or a closely related technical role
Working knowledge of Alberta Building Code
Strong understanding of construction practices, structural fundamentals, and mechanical and electrical systems
Proficiency in drafting and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications
Experience with estimating or project management software, or the ability to learn systems quickly
Exceptional attention to detail and strong critical‑thinking skills
Highly organized, process‑driven, and committed to accuracy
Proactive problem‑solver who anticipates challenges before they impact construction
