- Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management.
- Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry and prepare design documents and compile engineering packages.
- Analyze structural systems and elements as required using Analysis Software programs using ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI and other structural programs.
- Ensure Compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and Regulations, and ensuring the adequacy of design for permits and compliance with approved plans.
- Accountable for the delivery of all engineering deliverables/task to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets.
- Provide technical instructions to Junior staff or designers to develop engineering documentation.
- Review and comment on the work performed by others to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and design documentation.
- Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews as may be mandated for the design changes in question.
- Perform plant walkdowns as and if required in support of design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications.

- Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University with minimum 8 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings. Master’s degree and above is an asset.
- Must be Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada. Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
- 3 to 5 years of site or field experience in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings is an asset.
- Must have experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations.
- Knowledge of modification process of Nuclear Power Plant; ECC process or similar is an asset.
- Adequate knowledge of established Nuclear QA guidelines, procedures, knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset.
