On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Solution Architect to join our Client's team on a Contract basis. This role is Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite and the Client is based in Richmond.Summary of the RoleThe Solution Architect is responsible for translating business objectives into practical and scalable technology solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with architectural leadership to guide the delivery of complex systems. The successful candidate will design, validate, and support the implementation of modern cloud-based solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards. The role also requires a hands-on technical approach, including validating architectural designs through prototypes and proof-of-concepts while supporting development teams during implementation.Duties & Responsibilities
Translate business and technical requirements into scalable solution architectures and implementation plans.
Design and validate cloud-based architectures and ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards.
Lead technical solution design across modern applications, legacy integrations, and distributed systems.
Collaborate with engineering teams to guide development, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and support implementation when required.
Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes to validate architectural approaches and technical feasibility.
Provide guidance on best practices related to cloud architecture, DevOps, and application modernization.
Ensure solution designs meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security requirements.
Contribute to architecture documentation and technical standards across the technology ecosystem.
Core Requirements
Minimum 12 years of experience in solution architecture or systems architecture with strong cloud platform expertise.
Hands-on development experience using C#, .NET Core, and JavaScript.
Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure and/or AWS services, including Azure DevOps, App Services, SQL Managed Instance, AWS EC2, and CloudFormation.
Experience designing microservices architectures, containerized environments, and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
Strong experience with database design and data platforms, including SQL and NoSQL technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, or CosmosDB.
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience working with Power Apps and Microsoft Dynamics 365 platforms.
Experience integrating modern cloud applications with legacy enterprise systems.
Experience with messaging systems and event-driven architectures.
Familiarity with DevOps and Agile engineering practices.
Professional certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or TOGAF.
