
Manager, Commercial Real Estate Documentation

- Support key stakeholders and leaders in making strategic decisions as they negotiate various real estate contracts across the Firm
- Manage documents and contracts across all Canadian jurisdictions, in the following areas:
- Leased premises (leases, subleases, offer to lease, letter of intent, lease renewals, lease amendments, termination agreements and estoppel certificates)
- Owned property (purchase and sale agreements, offer to purchase, legal ownership, condominium filings, governmental filings, real property reports, tenant leases)
- Project construction (Canadian Construction Documents Committee and other small projects)
- Key supplier (procurement, consultants, suppliers, manufacturers, dealers)
- Create, review, manage, update, and track all contract documents from negotiation to execution, ensuring document quality, formatting, grammar, and schedules are consistent with MNP standards and terms
- Create and maintain business summaries, abstracts, and key information for all real estate contracts
- Provide key contract and project information to the Real Estate team, interpreting contract details as requested
- Maintain data integrity to support various software management, analysis, and tracking tools
- Manage documents and forms from creation to archive, maintaining consistency with naming conventions, signatures, and corporate entities
- Track the value of contracts under each entity, ensuring all supporting legal entity documents are included
- Manage property titles for the Firm
- Review head count projections, and conduct an analysis to provide recommendations for the corresponding business requirements
- Meet with Landlords to negotiate renewals and lease assignments
- Collaborate with internal or external Legal Counsel for various negotiations, transactions, and document standards, as required
- 5+ years of property and contract management experience, with a strong understanding of lease concepts and terms
- Proven expertise in commercial real estate document writing, review, and analysis
- Experience with lease calculations and construction budgets
- Strong organization skills to be able to prioritize and accomplish multiple ongoing tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Any of the following would be considered an asset:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in commerce, finance, business administration or paralegal education would be considered an asset
- Bilingual in French and English (written and oral)
- Property management or administration certification
- Experience working in a Canadian legal firm within a commercial real estate practice
- Experience working with real estate software (such as MRI, Prolease, or Costar)
- Experience working with AI document creation, comparison, and analysis tools
