Communications & ProductionPosition Summary:Under the direction of the immediate supervisor:
  • Ensures cameras and connection infrastructure are properly set up and ready for live performance;
  • Ensures communication equipment between control room and camera operators is functioning properly;
  • Runs video camera/recorder for live performance of operas, symphony orchestras, and recitals;
  • Take active direction in English;
  • Carries and sets up Canon XF300/305/205/100 and Sony EX3, and set up custom menus for Canon XF705/305/205/100 and Sony A7SII;
  • Sets up Manfrotto professional tripods and Manfrotto 504 fluid heads;
  • Performs post-production work as required.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or AbilitiesMust have full knowledge of the concert halls (Redpath, Pollack, Tanna) and the associated audio and video equipment. Must have successfully completed MUPD-204 and/or MUPD205 or have equivalent knowledge base or approval of Sound Recording Area. Requires working knowledge of Macintosh computers and navigational knowledge of MLAPS file systems (Unix navigation & commands), plus working familiarity with networks. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently. Ability to work with others (artists, faculty, external clients). Must be able to work under strict timelines.
