Position Summary:Youngs Sportsplex, located in Welland, ON, is currently seeking part time employees to fill Janitor/Building Operator positions. Youngs Sportsplex consists of four indoor tennis courts, one indoor full-size soccer field (divisible into three small-sided fields), three outdoor full size artificial turf soccer fields, and two outdoor grass soccer fields.This role pays an hourly rate of $17.00-$20.00 CADBenefits for PT roles: Pension matchingEVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline Responsibilities:
  • Daily cleaning and disinfecting of washrooms and change room facilities.
  • Cleaning around the fields, indoor and outdoor, as well as emptying garbage and recycling bins regularly.
  • Maintaining and grooming soccer fields and tennis courts on a regular basis.
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, glass and door handle cleaning and all other janitorial functions.
  • Snow blowing and shovelling as needed during the winter. Landscaping and grass cutting during the summer.
  • Addressing customer questions, and provide customer support as needed.
  • Set up & take down of equipment for rentals, leagues, and special events.
  • Liaising with clients, team coaches and referees, addressing queries, concerns or complaints, referring to appropriate staff.
  • Monitoring the safety of all activities and programs and responding to any safety concerns.
  • Providing support for special events as required.
  • Other janitorial and administrative duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated to provide a clean and positive experience to all guests
  • Handyman/repair experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to routinely lift heavy objects
