Position covered by the Collective Agreement with USW Local 4120If you are a current employee of the University of Guelph you must apply on the internal Career Page in order to be considered as an internal applicant.General PurposeThe Residence Admissions Clerk under Student Housing Services provides front-line customer service for Residence Admissions/Student Housing Services to residents, prospective students, parents and other stakeholders.Duties and Responsibilities
- Processing housing applications, transfer requests, cancellations
- Making room assignments; roommate-matching
- Preparing and distributing information, application and other materials throughout the year
- Adjusting student financial accounts as required
- Meeting and advising students and parents on housing choices and issues
- Working with residents and SHS staff in addressing concerns/problems of residents pertaining to room assignment
- Liaising with stakeholder units such as Student Financial Services, Student Health Services, Centre for Students with Disabilities, Interhall Council, residence hall councils on addressing special needs and accommodations, Co-op, CIP, Admissions, Grad Services, Program Counsellors, Hospitality Services, Campus Safety Office, Revenue Control.
- One (1) year community college degree in Office Administration, Business Administration, Marketing or similiar field.
- One (1) year prior of relevant experience to the role.
- Superior oral and written communication skills, in a team environment
- Tact, diplomacy and sensitivity to student issues
- Accurancy and attention to detail
- Computer operation skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe suite, social media platforms
- StarRez or other housing management software experience an asset
- Graphic design (Canva) or website editing (Drupal) an asset
- Knowledge of university admissions cycle and campus residences required.
