Senior Specialist, Credit Risk ConsultantOur Calgary-based client is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist, Credit Risk Consultant to join their team on a 15-month contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management of a diverse portfolio of commodity and commercial counterparties and related credit risk activities.Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Assess financial condition and creditworthiness of counterparties; provide credit reviews, ratings, limits, and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor daily/periodic portfolio exposures and manage over-limit positions.
  • Deliver training to cross-functional teams on credit risk management.
  • Contribute to credit policy, process, and technology decisions; support Middle Office transformation.
  • Build strong internal/external relationships and support contract negotiations (EEI, GasEDI, ISDA, etc.).
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Front Office, Supply Chain, Legal, etc.) for cohesive operations.
  • Communicate effectively with management, stakeholders, and counterparties.
  • Maintain risk management practices, align with industry standards, and update policies/procedures.
Your strengths include:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably B.Comm.
  • MBA/CFA/CPA designation considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in credit risk management or commercial banking.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, credit underwriting, commodity trading, and supply chain agreements.
  • Working knowledge of ETRM database configuration and content is also an asset.
  • Experience negotiating Master and supply agreements a key asset
