- Lead and support a small purchasing team, setting priorities and providing day-to-day direction
- Oversee competitive bidding processes across construction, capital equipment, and services
- Develop and review complex contracts, including professional services and facilities-related agreements
- Provide guidance on procurement strategy, risk, and contract structure
- Execute strategic sourcing initiatives when required to support team capacity
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with public sector procurement policies and procedures
- Advise on RFP processes, evaluation methods, and contract negotiations
- Support procurement activities related to facilities services such as maintenance, catering, and security
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce turnaround times
- Coach and mentor team members on procurement best practices
- Contribute to budget oversight, forecasting, and cost control
- Act as a delegate for senior leadership when required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred
- SCMP or similar certification is an asset
- Prior leadership experience, ideally managing or mentoring teams
- Strong knowledge of public sector procurement practices and competitive bidding processes
- Experience with contract development, negotiation, and vendor management
- Background supporting facilities, construction, or professional services categories is an asset
- Familiarity working in a unionized environment is preferred
- Ability to step into a role quickly and operate with minimal ramp-up
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Competitive salary in the range of $110,000 - $125,000 annualized, with full benefits for the duration of the term.
