Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey.The Project:This major national rail programme is focused on delivering a modern, electrified high-speed corridor that will strengthen connectivity between key urban centres. The scheme aims to significantly reduce journey times, enhance passenger capacity, and support long term decarbonisation goals. Development is progressing toward phased delivery over the next decade.Leads and is accountable for the planning function across the portfolio, ensuring all projects and tenders are robustly planned, scheduled and monitored. Oversees the deployment of planning and project controls procedures and directs planning activity on major or complex projects, supporting effective, predictable and high quality delivery outcomes.You'll Be Responsible For:
  • Champion Mace’s Safety First culture, ensuring exemplary safety, quality, compliance and an inclusive, supportive working environment.
  • Provide strategic leadership of planning performance, ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled and monitored to meet business objectives.
  • Uphold ethical, commercially sound operations while shaping long‑term strategy and supporting due‑diligence activities.
  • Develop and empower teams through mentoring, innovation, knowledge sharing and proactive talent growth.
  • Leads planning and scheduling for medium to high‑complexity programmes, applying robust project controls, EVM and analytical techniques.
  • Provides expert analysis, advising on complex requirements and communicating clear corrective actions to clients and stakeholders.
  • Guides and develops the planning team, driving high‑quality performance and professional growth.
  • Supports senior leadership through informed input into negotiations, due diligence and business development activities.
You’ll Need To Have:
  • Experience delivering major rail or high‑speed programmes, ideally within the design or early set‑up stages.
  • Degree‑educated with professional accreditation (APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA) or working toward equivalent.
  • Extensive planning experience across major property or infrastructure programmes.
  • Strong commercial, financial and digital scheduling expertise, with mastery of modern planning tools.
  • Proven leadership of high‑performing teams with senior stakeholder influence and sustainability awareness.
Note: The estimated salary for this position is $150,000 - 230,000.
