- Develop productive and highly engaged software development teams, fostering the development of personal and technical skills, as well as collaboration.
- Manage projects by understanding the business partner’s strategies, priorities and challenges. Assess capabilities to come up with appropriate solutions and deliver the expected value.
- Assess capabilities to propose appropriate solutions and deliver expected value.
- Manage stakeholders and maintain good relationships with internal and external collaborators.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure smooth integration of new technologies and approaches.
- Coordinate the activities of multidisciplinary technical teams, providing sound technical leadership.
- Assess technical capabilities and propose solutions aligned with current technological trends.
- Develop strategic requests and keep them up to date by identifying deliverables and dependencies, estimating duration and associated costs and helping to assign resources to activities.
- Write reports on the entire project (progress, issues, costs, closing, etc.) while respecting the key performance indicators established.
- Collaborate with other Software Engineering Managers to ensure all initiatives have appropriate staffing, balancing business needs with the individual’s experience and career aspirations.
- Anticipate problems and difficult situations and take necessary measures to resolve them.
- Manage ongoing relationships and expectations of stakeholders and senior management.
- Maintain a strong business focus with an understanding of the current and strategic direction of Intact technologies.
- As we strive for continuous improvement, evolve our software development practices to achieve high standards of efficiency.
- Remain on the lookout for new technologies and question the status quo.
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Software Engineering or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Experience in leading IT development initiatives.
- Good understanding and experience of DevSecOps and SRE concepts and the technological tools to support them (CICD, Observability, Reliability, Quality, Performance, etc).
- Solid understanding and experience with application development and delivery with a variety of technologies (Java, JavaScript, Angular, Application Frameworks, CSS, HTML, REST, SOAP, JSON).
- Experience in continuous delivery management and production support.
- Experience with object-oriented development and software debugging.
- Experience in change management and transformation within a project/program context
- Experience managing teams.
- Experience in project management competencies including planning, budget and timeline management, scope management, risk management, timely decision-making, effective team building.
- Leadership.
- Bilingualism (French and English) Need to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
